5 Weekend Movie Recommendations

Let me introduce myself. My name is Rudy Sy. I am one who really likes watching movies. Seeing many steemians who are enthusiastic about Netflix, Movie & Streaming, then I would recommend a series of new movie titles to be watched this weekend, from Army of the Dead which offers terror from clever zombies to Let Them All Talk which is now available. accessed by viewers via streaming services in Indonesia. This also can be watched via the Netflix streaming application.

Here are five recommendations for weekend films that can be watched in cinemas and streaming services in Indonesia.

Army of the Dead

Army of the Dead tells of a zombie plague that hit Las Vegas. Most of the locals turn into zombies and destroy Las Vegas.

The few remaining humans live their lives fighting zombies. Some of them became fighters, others took refuge in a safe area blocked by a large wall.

Scott Ward (Dave Bautista), a former zombie-fighting soldier, decides to survive by selling burgers. However, the tranquility of his life was disturbed by the temptation to go on a mission.

Samjin Company English Class

Samjin Company English Class is the winner of the Best Film award at the 2021 BaekSang Arts Awards. The film tells the story of empowering women in the mid-90s setting, when sexual and academic discrimination was rampant in Korea.

Three office workers, namely Ja-young, Yu-nah, Bo-ram, are shunned by the company where they work. They are given jobs that are not important because only high school graduates.

The excitement begins when they see the announcement that employees who get a TOEIC score of 600 will be promoted. The three of them immediately took English classes.

One day, Ja-young was sent to a factory. There, he saw the discharge of factory waste into the river and polluted the water and the fish died. He was compelled to investigate this matter with his two friends.

Let Them All Talk

Let Them All Talk is a comedy drama film starring Meryl Streep, Dianne Wiest, Candice Bergen, Lucas Hedges, and Gemma Chan. This film tells the story of Alice Hughes (Streep), a writer who won a literary award in England through the book You Always / You Never.
Karen (Chan) proposes Alice to go there by cruise ship because it cannot be by air. Alice invites three people to accompany her trip, namely Tyler (Hedges), Roberta (Bergen), and Susan (Wiest).

The invitation surprised many parties. Because, Roberta thinks Alice wrote her life story in the book You Always / You Never without her permission.

Gintama: The Very Final

The earth is in danger of being destroyed. Everyone join hands to win back the samurai nation. Gintoki, Takasugi, Katsura were busy with their thoughts as people started to count down the destruction of the Earth.

This film focuses on Gintoki's final battle against his teacher, Yoshida Shouyou, who awakens in the form of a demon named Utsuro. Utsuro even has a power that can increase by itself.

In addition, the inhabitants of Kabuki, Katsura, Takasugi, and even Gintoki's rivals took part in this devastating battle. This made Gintoki ready to do everything in his power to end Utsuro's terror.

Tjoet Nja Dhien

Tjoet Nja Dhien is a biographical film that tells about the struggle of a woman from Aceh named Tjoet Nja 'Dhien (Christine Hakim). He and his comrades fought against the Dutch troops who occupied Aceh during the Dutch East Indies occupation.

In the war, Tjoet Nja 'Dhien also helped the efforts of her husband, Teuku Umar (Slamet Rahardjo) who became the warlord between the Acehnese people. Their struggle got even worse after Teuku Umar was arrested by the Dutch for the betrayal of his closest people.

The film, which aired in 1988, will now return to theaters. This is inseparable from the efforts of Erros Djarot and his team who have succeeded in restoring the film Tjoet Nja 'Dhien in the Netherlands.
