Isaiah Thomas, 28, averaged a career-high 28.9 points last season before the hip injury forced him to miss the Celtics' final three games of the playoffs.
He was acquired by the Cavs this summer, Thomas hasn't played in a game since suffering a torn labrum in his right hip while playing for the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals last season. He started a 3-on-3 work at practice late last month. The Cavs are hoping to get him back on the court for his Cleveland debut by December, though the exact date has no been decided.
The Cavs point guard was able to participate in half-court 4-on-4 live play for consecutive days this week, coach Tyronn Lue said Wednesday
Lue was encouraged by the two-time All-Star's performance, saying, "there was contact" during the workout and Thomas "looked good."
