Adopt and Dont Shop
I love animals and I want to help bring awareness on the problems they face in any way I can. So I will make a post today about why is important to adopt instead of just buy your pet.
There are too many animals and not enough homes. Some animals are found wandering as strays, and some are surrendered to shelters by their owners who cannot, or no longer want to, care for them.
In some shelters, if the animal is not adopted during a set period of time, they will be euthanized. Space in shelters is limited, and every year, several millions dogs and cats are euthanized because there was not enough room or funds to keep them alive.
Shelters are overcrowded. Adoption will not only save the life of the pet you are adopting but will also make room and free up precious resources for another animal that the shelter will take in. Adopting an animal from a shelter is the best way to help the shelter continue its work. Shelters are meant to only house animals temporarily, and in order to be able to help more animals in need, shelters must find loving adoptive homes for the animals they take in.
Everybody always says you can’t buy love, but you can adopt it from an animal shelter (and usually for a lot less money than buying from a breeder or a pet store). Shelters and rescue groups often include vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying or neutering in the adoption fee.
When you buy a pet, you not only deny a homeless pet a home, you are supporting an industry that thrives on short-changing the welfare of animals. Puppy and kitten mills (which sell to pet stores) are in business to make a profit, so they churn out puppies and kittens as fast as they can. These animals are often in ill-health and have problems like poor socialization skills due to lack of human companionship and genetic defects due to inbreeding.
If you want a dog or cat from an specific breed it doesn’t matter you cant adopt one most shelters have all sorts of breeds since some owners don’t want them anymore and they don’t care if the have a breed in particular, there are also shelters that specialize on different types of breeds so there is not excuse for you not to adopt!
Remember you will save a life and will get in return all the love that animal is capable of giving, they know when they have been safe so they will be grateful to you all their life.
Also remember that adopting is a responsibility so only do so if you are prepare to be responsible for a life some animals only life for short periods of time but there are other that live even longer than humans so inform yourself first on what is the best pet for you, and adopt responsible!

Cats sleep 16 to 18 hours per day. When cats are asleep, they are still alert to incoming stimuli. If you poke the tail of a sleeping cat, it will respond accordingly.
