Beautiful Wild Succulents
I found these beautiful wild succulents while hiking in Point Reyes National Sea Shore. I love succulents in general, there's something so satisfying about how fat and juicy they look. This particular specimen was quite small, so I got up close to reveal its amazing color scheme.
This shot gives a little more perspective on how small they are compared to the surrounding grass, and also lets you see their cool flowering style, that stalk shoots way up there to attract pollinators who might miss it otherwise.

I like succulents very much. The first appeared in our country about forty years ago, they were like aliens from outer space. Their leaves wanted to bite)) Thank you, great photos and story!
Thanks for the compliment @barski! I also think they look like aliens. I am not originally from this state (California), and grew up in Florida. There are many more succulents here in California than in Florida and I am enjoying seeing them every day! Which country are you from?
