A Beautiful Beetle
We had a special visitor at the campsite today, the Gibbefer californicus or pleasant fungus beetle flew in and hung out with us for a while today.
He was a good sized beetle, probably nickel sized. He had no fear of people and he crawled around on me for a while. The gils even let him crawl on them.
They eat fungus that grows on pine trees, so they are found largely in pine and aspen forests. I looked up the information that I am sharing as I didn't know much about my new friend. Hope you enjoyed, bye.
