Wow, that is insane, you already have snow! I can't say I want it here yet, but the scenery is beautiful to be enjoyed while having a hot cup of coffee :)
Ten latitudes to towards the north pole and at least 500 m in elevation will do it. We had frost all the way down in Lahti at 61 N last night .

Are heavy loads hauled to high elevations in the winter, too?
Building roads in the wilderness is not much popular in Norway, for many destinations the only possibility is winter time by snow mobile (alternatively helicopter or horses)
There was a case in the newspaper recently, the state owned electricity line operator had to do some maintenance and went in wet terrain in terrain vehicles, the wheels made big marks in the terrain. It may take more than 50 years until the damage is invisible. They don't have permission to do that, and there were quite some outrage as it's speculated the only reason for using a vehicle was that the workers were too lazy to walk 1.6 km
Yes tracks after machines sometime a problem, there are strict rules for drawing in the wilderness and afterward the tracks must be removed as much as possible. Anyway everyone want electricity so any intervention in nature must be accepted.
Sometimes it's impossible to transport heavy loads by any other means than building a road and driving a truck to where the load is supposed to go. @karja posted pictures of a road built at a high elevation on a fell a few days ago. I think that's where a windmill is built and the road is there so that its components can be taken to the construction site. Or the road was already there and the site was chosen because there already was a road. I'm I correct?

Yes the roads foe the windmill project are relatively short, the bigger problem is along the power lines which crosses the whole country. Many places in the north these roads are publicly available after completion of construction work.
I guess it's visible on photo #7 :-)
The heaviest loads for these year are transported, the windmills are huge and heavy and will be transported next summer.

I wish we had mountains in Estonia gaah, it would be so much more interesting to hike here and take photos of sceneries. Your posts always make me feel that way haha.
Thanks Franz for commenting, the altitude is between 650-700m. Even at this height there was an early and heavy snowfall.

I natt kom det litt snø oppe i fjella på Vestlandet og, men det trur eg kan smelta bort ganske snart. Det er nok ei stund til me får snø der som blir liggjande.
Takk for kommentar siggjo. Ja det var litt for tidlig med vinter nå. Normalt kommer det litt snø to tre ganger i fjellene før den legger seg.
