Baobab en Barbados
El Baobab es conocido por los que hayan leido esa hermosa obra infantil de Antoine de Saint-Exupery, El Principito, por ser los árboles que crecían sin control en el asteroide B-612. La mayor preocupación del pequeño príncipe era que al crecer destruyeran su planeta.
El Baobab es un árbol de origen africano, con 6 especies, siendo la más conocida la Adansonia Digitata.
Durante mi estadía en Barbados visitamos el Queen's Park en Bridgetown, donde conocimos un baobab de más de 1000 años, uno de los dos que hay en este país caribeño.
Cuenta la leyenda que esa semilla flotó desde África y llegó a la orilla de una laguna donde se desarrollo hasta ser el majestuoso árbol que es hoy.
