Lyadskaya Garden is a park in the center of Kazan, it is located in one of the most expensive and prestigious areas of the city, surrounded by ancient houses and streets. In the late 18 century. In the heart of the city was the estate of Major-General Alexei Petrovich Letsky, where Pavel I once stayed. The Emperor liked this house and the hosts' hospitality so much that he ordered to name in honor of the major-general the street near the estate (now it bears the name of Maxim Gorky) . Aleksei Petrovich, in turn, broke a beautiful garden here: planted trees, set lanterns that illuminated the territory at night, and a bronze fountain in the form of a girl with a jug - by that time the first water pipe had been opened in Kazan.

After the revolution, the fun ceased, and after the war the estate was completely demolished, a monument to Gorky was erected here and the street was renamed. In the 1970s. Demolished and a fountain, in the place of which they opened a new one - in the form of a large ball, which in the people was called " apple ". By 2016 the park has been restored and landscaped, benches have been installed, roads have been re-planned, and practically on each of the neighboring houses one can see a memorial tablet - as a token of memory of what respectable people lived here and visited.

Today in the park there is a playground, live squirrels, and in the neighborhood - the bakery-confectionery Truffo and the restaurant "Marusovka", beloved by local people and tourists.
