Amazing World - Peneda Geres National Park
Peneda Geres National Park - Portugal
Mountainous terrain with lush valleys make up the 190 sq miles of Peneda Geres National Park, established in northern Portugal in 1970. The highest of the granite peaks is Mount Nerosa. Heavy rainfall in the mountains feeds fast-flowing rivers, and many unusual plants grow in the fertile valleys. Unique to the area is the rare Schreiber's green lizard.
