Why I haven't been posting all that much (Or, won't be able to for a little while)

in #myispsucksass6 years ago

So, you may or may not have noticed that I haven't been uploading all that much content lately. Whether it be game reviews, edited videos or just doing some live streaming. This is because my ISP has basically been pounding me in the ass everyday non stop for the past 2 weeks. I'm paying $90 a month right now to basically get a reach around and some slaps in the face from someone with steel gloves on. I lose connection to the internet no less than a few dozen times a day. The times reach anywhere from 10 seconds up to 40 minutes.

It has made it basically impossible for me to record content, stream or even play video games to relax and chill out. Even uploading edited videos has become a Herculean task since I often lose connection in the middle of uploading any and all of my content. This leads to a lot of frustrating downtime where I have to constantly try to reupload my videos and pray that whatever internet gods are smiting me with their erect penises will just give my butthole a break. Or, at least toss some lube on it.

I've thought about transitioning to doing game reviews while this is happening, however, those take up a large amount of time and I'm not sure if anyone really cares about them. I also find myself kind of screwed with that as well, as quite a few of the games I have left to review are multiplayer games, so I can't really write my opinion on them when said opinion is basically "FUCK MY ISP. FUCK MY ISP. FUCK MY ISP". After talking to them about the issues several times over the past 2 or so weeks, I've been told several times that they would have it fixed by a certain deadline, only for that deadline to come and go.

Right now I'm being told it should be fixed by Tuesday. Whether or not this will happen, I don't know. I have become really demotivated to try and do anything on here between this and the current bear market. I treat Steemit like a part time job since I have medical problems that make it hard for me to work a normal job. I find it funny that I am basically paying this company to lose me money at this point. I'm hoping that perhaps by some abysmal chance that they'll be back up and running normally by Tuesday. So, I can get back to editing gameplay videos, streaming, or writing out some of these reviews I've been wanting to do.

If you're wondering why I don't just cancel providers and switch to someone else instead of waiting, it's because I have to get the fuck out of here and move by August. So, there's little point in doing that since I can't/won't be here in the matter of just a few weeks. I basically just wanted to make a little update, to apologize if I haven't been voting on your content as much or interacting as much. As well as to let the handful of you who actually check out my content know what's going on and why I'm not doing much lately. To make up for it, I've went ahead and made a picture of what my internet service provider actually looks like so you can see the abomination that I deal with.

For those of you who don't get the reference, feel free to watch these two videos below. They will summarize the competence and ability of my ISP quite nicely. Seriously, this is basically exactly what I might as well be dealing with at this point.

Anyways, I guess that's it for now. If I feel like ranting about this more, I'll try to keep it off Steemit. I'm sure most of you don't wanna have to hear or see this shit more than once, lol. Thanks to anyone who actually takes the time to read this. I just wanted to vent a bit and get this frustration off my chest.

That blows. I had the same shitty problem with Comcast in my last house. Terrible internet a d they would come out and never fix it. Time and time again my shit would glitch or not play. Awful. Luckily I’m my new house it’s nothing like the last. Hope they get it all squared away brother. For your butthole and all....There’s only so much it can take.

If it would at least just WORK, then I could deal with the latency spikes and lag and all that crap. But, everyday, at least 18-30 times a day the internet goes out and I never know when it's coming back on. It's like having rolling blackouts for the god damn internet. It's just retarded. I have to wonder if some mummified raccoons came back from the dead to chew on their wiring in this areas hub or something at this point.

That’s awful. You should do a Steemit article on mummified raccoons.

Do you really think his ISP can hurt that butthole? I vote it cannot!

@erodedthoughts His butthole is the thing of legend so you might be right...

I am. One is a conversation about @deadspace's actual asshole and the other about how his ass is being hammered by the ISP. Two different butt hurt conversations at once. Like the twilight zone.

Clearly you have never been victimized by an ISP. Once you have, you'll keep your gastroenterologist on speed-dial, and a hemorrhoid donut within arm's reach at all times. You'll develop a crippling fear of sandpaper and barbed wire, and it will be impossible to pick up a broom, mop, pool cue, or any other long, narrow-handled object without making your saving throw. Butterfly nets and snowshoes are right out. You will still be able to laugh, but it will hurt. Unfortunately the only way to deal with the pain is through laughter. The infinite regression is not pretty, but it is a fact of life.

It’s like you took the words outta my mouth.

It is really weird to only have your voice during our gameplay and not you playing. You are kicked out of party chat way too much to even make talking normal these last few weeks, mixed with my pills making me think I said in place of thought things I am saying....I'm not sure which is worse, you trying to hold a conversation with pilled out me or me with disconnect you.

Lets find out tonight. Actually, let me get pilled out and we can just make it full retard for the evening. It'll just be shrieking and moans and grunts for 3 hours. So, you know, mostly the same as every night but more stupid.

I was telling @imaginedragon about when I thought I said some things to you last night, which I never said but thought. She just blinked at me and said, yup, seems about right.......LMAO.......

This reminds me of dealing with the cable company in south park. I hope your ISP issues are solved soon.

I legit thought that cat was hanging from a power line for a second and thought you meant I would be dead soon. I can definitely say I'm disappointed that he's just hanging from a branch.

Haha! It can't be as bad a dealing with Comcast.
Horrible horrible company

You deal with Comcast by being in constant cut-off payment. Works perfect, pay on time or in advance and their service sucks.

Sorry to hear about your internet troubles, man. I've been there before, and it blows mightily. The second we're late with a payment, we get the ISP's goons on us demanding to know where their money is; they on the other hand get as long as they like to "fix" the service we're paying them money for.

Hope this Tuesday sees an end to your problems, @deadspace. We need more oomph on that 'Gaming' tag here. :)

It's just driving me nuts because it has been literally over 2 weeks of this non stop. Huge latency spikes, ping going up to 900-1000, internet cuts out for 10 seconds sometimes, others for 40 minutes. It is maddening, man. It wouldn't be driving me so crazy if I didn't rely on making some scratch on here to help me be able to pay bills, but yeah, I do that so it drives me freakin nuts, haha.

You're spot on though about the goon thing. I can think of two times recently where they raised the price on the bill without notifying us, then when I was $2-5 short on a payment, they threatened to turn off the internet the next day and wanted to tack on a $20 late fee, lol. South park was DEAD ON with their representation of the cable company from that recent season. Seriously.

Fingers crossed for tuesday. As someone that works from home I truly feel for you, with those internet issues.

Yeah, I guess we'll see, man. I have little hopes for it to be true, as I believe my ISP might actually just be one middle aged man named Jeff who flips an on and off switch throughout the day.
