RE: Musing Posts
I understand that majority of people work because of money. There are bills to be paid, needs to be met and financial targets to hit. But there are also people who work not just for the money.
If money was all there was to jobs, i'm sure wives of very rich men wouldn't need to work especially IF there was enough money to run the family and still go round but most of them still work for several reasons. Top among those reasons is the joy and satisfaction that comes from rendering a good service. That feeling of knowing that you are the one putting smiles on people's face. You're the reason someone is happy. You'll go to work with a healthy attitude if you have this understanding.
So, in a situation where I can't find a paying job, I'd sign up for voluntary service. With passion and dedication in the job even without payment, you are sure to get recommendation soonest.
Recently, I rounded off my national youth service corps program in Nasarawa state, Nigeria. I'm yet to get a job though. During my service year, I signed up to join a non-government body, whose focus was giving back to the society. The body just started, yet to get approval though but we've kicked off with so many projects. Because of my involvement with this group in imparting lives within and outside my immediate community, I'm overjoyed, putting smiles on faces.
Rather than stay back home and waste the entire day, I invest it in imparting lives. I feel fulfilled. I suggest same for anyone who's yet to get a job of his or her dreams. Stay focused and give back to people. You would receive a multiplied harvest of the seed sown for whatever you sow, you reap.
