Just about a year ago now, I went to the doctor to have something looked at that had been bugging me for a while.  It was in a pretty sensitive area and I was pretty embarrassed to talk to the doctor about it.  Especially since I am a male and my doctor is a female.

I ended up getting referred to another doctor by her after I finally talked to her about it and after many tests and other appointments, they found out that I had testicular cancer.   I quickly had the cancer and testicle removed and then I had to go through a series of radiation just to make sure there wasn't anything left.

Now almost a year later, I am cancer free and all of my doctor appointments have been going really well.

I feel very lucky and blessed that they were able to catch it early and fully remove it.  That is probably the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me.  Followed closely by meeting my wife.  She is awesome!

The luckiest thing that happened to me is a story which I'm about to share with you.

Sometimes ago I was in a trip from one state to another in my country. Along the way we met a roadblock and the driver had to bring the bus to a slow pace because we believed it be a police check point but turned out they were high way robbers. They captured our bus and asked everyone to come down and lie down flat.

Meanwhile before we got to the check point I was on phone chatting with my younger sister and when I saw what was happening I quickly texted her that armed robbers have hijacked our bus then went down the bus. I went down with my handbag and lay flat on my stomach praying seriously. My handbag was open as the zip spoilt some few days back. In it were my original documents, my phone ringing nonstop cos my sister won't stop calling and $75 which is a whole lot of money in my country since our currency has lost its value.

Everybody on the bus was robbed, phones and bags, money collected and other valuables but despite the fact that my bag was out there in the open, zip open, phone ringing and all, it was not touched by them. After they left, people were using my phone to call their loved ones to intimate them of the ugly incident.

I considered myself very lucky that day. It was grace

Many lucky things have happened to me actually. My life is one that is regularly seasoned with grace. However, I want to recall one that concerns this platform.

Some few months back, when the downturn of Steem and many other currencies began, I was very discouraged and had almost given up on steemit. It was just out of habit that I was still coming online and commenting.

What I did then was to just check on posts that were recently posted and would just comment my support and give some little upvote.

One evening, as I was preparing for church, I happened upon Ned's post saying he was looking for new developers. The post was barely two minutes. I quickly commented and thanked him for the good work and said I'd pass word around to the few developers I know. I then moved on to other people's comments. When I returned from church, I was surprised to see that Ned had given me a mouth-dropping $50 upvote. I was literally 'mad' with joy.

Anyways, I later checked back to see that a lot of people had down voted the comment bit some others upvoted to counter. At the end, the comment ended up having about $35 or so....That was the highest I'd ever gotten all my stay on steemit. My friends who saw it were pleasantly surprised and told me how lucky I was.

To be honest, it is when I found Steemit.

Steemit has provided me lots of blessings and opportunities in life. A platform that lets you earn just by sitting computer? You gotta be kidding me.

I used to be a working scholar (and at the same time studying) just to pay my school expenses and tuition fee. I also worked as a Customer Service Representative (call center agent) because that's the fastest way to earn money to solve my financial woes. Not until the time I was introduced to Steemit.

I joined the platform last June 2017 and has been a life transforming experience for me. Who would've though I could buy a bike, house, and car just because of Steemit? Who would've thought I could pay my whole tuition fee just because of being in the platform?

Most importantly, who would've thought Steemit was the avenue to sustain my daily needs and my family's needs? The studies of my  siblings? They were all provided by the earnings I got in Steemit.

When my wife said YES

At that point my life changed irrevocably (and mostly for the better)

Anyone who is married (happily) and has family will understand why no further explanation is needed

It is when I passed the licensure examination for teachers. That was the ticket for me to teach in schools I want to teach. As a person who wishes to be a teacher since birth, that was the best thing that has ever happened into my life. It paved a way of achieving my dreams and being so close from my passion (teaching).

I'm ever greatful for being one of the 20% passers of the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

I saved my brothers' life. Yes, you read it right.Might be I strongly believe my instinct. It was during his 10th board exams.

He had mild fever, swelling and pain in throat. My mom spoke with relatives about it and gave some home remedies, considered it as one type of pox. On second day, he got swelling in his legs too. My father decided to give him a paracetamol (fever tablet), as he was looking normal and active, he postponed the doctor visit due to his exams. But, my instinct found it wrong. I went to dad and argued with him to take him to hospital.

He finally took him to an local doctor. He asked to take blood test and found something fishy. So, he asked us to take him to a famous kidney specialty hospital. We got scared and got appointment through referral. Finally, results came after all the tests. It was glomerulonephritis.

Glomerulonephritis is inflammation of the tiny filters in your kidneys (glomeruli). Glomeruli remove excess fluid, electrolytes and waste from your bloodstream and pass them into your urine

Doctor told that we had admitted him in a right time or else he would be at a great risk or no more. Because of that problem, kidney filtering process became severely low and all the waste got accumulated in his legs, neck, face etc.. , It was the reason for swelling.

He went through a course of medications and strict diet. Finally,He got recovered completely.

Keep smiling!
