Is Musicoin the future of the music industry?

This sentiment, which has sent shockwaves through the old money music industry clearly suggest that Musicoin could be the saviour of the music industry.

Musicoin started out as an idea, an ideology to save the music industry (and possibly the world?!). A small team lead by the highly ambitious Isaac Mao set out to conquer the music industry. Musicoin was inveiled in early 2017 as 'World’s first smart cryptocurrency for music' and boldly stated that 'The only limitation will be our imagination'. Since it's inception the crytocurrency has soared, hitting $0.12 in early January 2018 and attracting thousands of new musicians and listeners. The upside of Musicoin is that each stream earns the artist a music coin (MC) and this has real commerical value.

Browsing through the lists of artists, we found one user will over 9,000 MC worth over $1000 in early January. This is staggering. Take someone like Taylor Swift for example with over 1 billion plays, on Musicoin this would be $120 million! I would imagine that this sort of money isn't offered to her by Youtube or the major labels for this number of plays.

A revolution in the music industry is clearly taking place and one which is changing the face of music forever. Musicoin has rightly introduced an egalitarian disruptive force into what was a top heavily oligopoly and this surely signals the start of an explosion of new artists being able to financially sustain and support themselves whilst making music ALL OF VARIETIES AND TYPES. Gone will be the days where a few executives sitting in New York will decide the future of music, this will be done through blockchain artists creating, imagining and setting the varied world of music free.
