Music Monday (feel free to add your own music)
Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture its true essence.
As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

Ha Fatboy comes from my hometown .. and I still can't believe he used to be in the House Martins :) I used to go to the original big beat boutiques in the Concorde and was at both the Brighton Beach parties that he did .. along with 250 - 300,000 other party people! A beautiful chaos .. hence why he wasn't allowed to do it again! Great nights though!! lol Obviously, haven't had the chance to listen to all this yet but rest assured I will .. Great choice this week my friend .. thanks for inspiring a very welcome trip down memory lane, and as always thanks for the music. :)
The Age of Love brings me back, far, far back to Clacton Pier and the all-night raves in the early 90s. John Digweed was one of our favourite DJs at the time.

Haha I went to a couple of raves at Clacton Pier .. think Top Buzz was on the line up lol We probably had a dance-off or something lol :D Funnily enough, I saw DJ Randall playing a few weeks back. And you're right, The Age of Love .. really encapsulates a moment in time, and every time that I hear it .. for a few minutes I'm back in the zone! Great call on John Digweed .. remember seeing him back to back with Sasha .. another awesome DJ! Loving the Age of Love samples in this one, such a great track. People are still raving, but that sense that we were dancing at the outer ripple in a new era of youth movements .. that we were front and centre and making music history .. is (I feel) a missing ingredient. Thank you for the music .. a most excellent choice!
Clacton was by far my favourite venue with three or four rooms with different styles of dance music and then the chillout area with the huge fish tank in the middle. We'd spend hours just gazing, mesmerised at the fish, everyone on E and no one messing or causing any trouble.
I can't imagine what today's version of raving is. Everyone waving their phones around and tweeting I guess;)
