Røyksopp - Norwegian Electronic Music For The Weekend

Hi, fellow steemians! Today I would like to recommend you a really cool Norwegian electronic band called Röyksopp (originally spelled in Norwegian as 'Røyksopp'). They are rather popular in the genre it must be mentioned, but still, for those of you who have not heard of them here's a short bio below.

The band started out in 1998 in Tromsø, Troms county, northern Norway. The group is actually a duo consisting only of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. Since the late 1990s, the band has been constantly experimenting with electronic music and all sorts of related equipment (e.g. drum machines, synths, amps, etc.). Their music also features elements of ambient, synthpop, and techno nature.

They have been critically acclaimed and praised by fans and music critics akin, managing to produce records that have topped the charts in both native Norway and abroad. To date, they have also been nominated to one Grammy award.
