A healthy setup and room treatment is very important because the walls of your room can affect your mixing and many aspects of audio production.

Group your cables.
Keeping your cables grouped together by type (MIDI,audio, mains) can help you find a particular line quicker.

Tidy your cables
You can use easy-release plastic ties to keep your grouped cables together. Having organized and tidied your installation cabling, try store it properly rather than leaving it in coils and tangles on the floor.

Label Everything
Labeling everything from MIDI controller keyboards, patch bays and the main switch. This can help you to keep track of your cables.

Acoustic Treatment.
Before spending a lot of money give yourself some time moving your furniture around. Like it or not the size of your room matters when it comes to acoustic treatment. Hard flat wall surfaces are not good for studios especially when they are are parallel to each other. Break them up with furniture like book shelves and have a carpet underneath where you sit.

There's a lot of DIY acoustic panel designs available online and there's nothing like a bit of hands-on acoustic application to develop a deeper understanding of the subject. Low frequency hot spots occur in corners and close walls, so try putting a larger absorbent structure in these positions to soak up any excess bass ( sofas against rear walls, arm chairs in the corners, etc)
