Many ways to get some airplay?

Music for fans or music for music

The over saturated hobbyists who make music, like me and everyone else who does some expression with rhythms or tones knows that the times for musicians always have been about huge and massive budgets and promotion costs.

In the past there were only few major labels who had few artists who had massive budgets to them to promote them. The market back then was all about getting a decent label covering your ass.. music was not made by computers and had to be done good in recording. Several genres and sub genres of music styles have been founded over the years. The more years you go back the better the music comes so to say too. Quantity and quality are a difference. For having huger promotion budgets artists better were worth it. Looking at it nowadays it's really sad to see actually what happened. And why should someone complain it to be sad? Well because the market has turned into a free for all where everybody can get a song published and released on iTunes, spotify, etc. If i had recorded the fart i just let out, I could have it on spotify in not time. What does blockchain change to this? Well honestly what i have seen is everywhere on the nowadays available sites, a giant war for attention.

what it looks like inside

The ones with the most dedication in get heard and if its good, then its good. However this can be tricky since the free 4 all game is making us artists compete in anything if we think like that. Musician is a popularity contests where the amount of self spam gets you played more, on steemit and dsound feels like downgrading for upvotes where 1 guy rules all basically, don't see a lot of noise on other platform that are for musicians on the blockchain that get any good attention too. But I Must say there is one exception which is ::--> choon

I believe this is something that could get some value over time.. Even though now there is already a lot of traffic, there are songs of mine saved for playlists and albums a lot to my surprise which means extra reach. Reach is where it's all about people don't get to know your music if you are not reaching them.. but tunes works and you can support anonymous... its like really liking something because you really like it all over and more different.. I mean on other sites you still are in a popularity race that is just the once on top with the louder cry for attention and some decent music credible just enough maybe..everything solo... everybody in a fight for it? No thats messed up and makes people lose joy...and losing joy is what is the worst thing that can happen.. no overly nice behavior that is weird or no buts hunted with honesty either.. a place like that is choone for my likes, its pretty cool and works like soundcloud to be a portfolio for music too in a good matter.

This is so true as I could relate better to this as a singer. I do reggae and mostly any instrumental that inspires me. I make all my songs on my phone using an app cause of the cost of production.
So what I do is target producers on steemit , then request to work on their beat. I’ve made quite a few songs and the recent which I recorded less than 48hrs ago was on a steemian’s beat, a producer on steemit.

I’d love to work with you if you’d gimme the chance to learn from you, people are my inspiration.

sure man i can't sing myself so i;m always into collaboration. if you have discord here's where to find me https://discord.gg/jHKFUwY

Oh okay , I will catch you on there

Nice pic wink
I need to have a look to the choon thing
I giggle at the fart part yet I usually make the same joke about flushing the toilet lol

The fact that playlist curators can actually get a cut of the earnings is the key. Playlists are the lifeblood of Spotify but being paid to curate them - that's a game changer!!

Sure this means there will be thousands of pointless playlists where people just add anything in the hope that they can get some rewards but it's still a lot better than what we have now right!

absolutely love it for me it works i like this more than musicoin where i already got asked for votes to vote so someone can become artist of the week

These people that try to game the system lose out in the long run as it's so easy to spot! I guess they are short sighted and just want the "quick buck". No point moaning about it though is there a they won't go away. We just need maintain our integrity and we end up getting a lot more out of it all emotionally as well as financially.

10 points out of 10 it's indeed obvious on multiple things visible but a shitty song in the popular lists is what kills them because then they are known for rigging plays and as creators of shitty music too right..

And as AI progresses it will become even more obvious and easy to block these people. Mind you there will probably be some "false positives" to start with.

The influx of money, technology record label has really killed the quality of music these days, it's now beat over lyrics

I agree that it's really hard to find the gold dust among the noise but it is still there, it's just harder to find!

wow i like it. and will find you soon. thanks friend

When I return I will have to check out this choon!

You really should! And sooner rather than later as the reward will diminish over time until it hits a plateau.

Dude as I said. As a user I LOVE choon!

And can imagine that it has potential as an artist even more. Perfect easy way to place your music. It really works

Two fundamental things Choon has done right: using the Ethereum blockchain and pegging the Choon note to ETH ...

Steem and musicoin have a higher risk/reward profile for their key stakeholders.

I certainly hope all three of these aforementioned platforms entirely displace iTunes, Spotify, and all the centralized social media incumbents in the near future.

I found out its used to ciricle jerk in a huge way and that it works.. like i you open 10 tabs and have my playlist played non stop it will be the most listened to the next day... as usual the artistry doesn't come to its full rights even not here.. but who cares.. the beauty is though the playlists shares that aren't friends who listed it but you can't see that which is also great actually... but anyways soon promo will be real just watch :D

Yeah, I feel like that's kind of cheating the system, tabs playing without listening, although I have yet to see it explicitly stated as wrong ... I do like how the artist can choose how much to reward the curator for inclusion on the curator's playlist, that's also a unique feature of Choon.

yeah but you know cheating is something thats hard to describe because looking at the ambassadors that are artists who had a hit once, but show up on top after 2 days of extremely high stream counts again and and always show on top, is probably just choon holding promise but we should just ignore those things you can't play police anyways right ?not on chains... unless you hate people and can rip them from earnings like some bots around here but without that possibility nothing make people have power to ''fear'' but it sure is annoying to know but the more you know ;) you know

You can be sure Choon are monitoring people's behaviour and sending out warnings. There is too much at stake for them to allow gaming of the system.

how you know this

I have seen a post from them somewhere where they said they were monitoring things. It's pretty easy to do a little pattern recognition and see who is trying to game the system.

Certainly playing your own tunes is a dead giveaway based on IP address alone, but the gray area is when someone gets their circle of friends to play entire playlists without really listening (one way or another), not exactly 'organic growth'.

In the long run, I think that behavior is ultimately self-defeating, focusing on gaming systems instead of improving one's craft and enticing a genuine, engaged audience with it ... sounds almost excessively stoic, but integrity and authenticity is something that carries through all aspects of one's life, symptoms of lack thereof rearing their ugly heads elsewhere when least expected.
