DUO ZIKR: magic vocal improvisations

DUO ZIKR – the duet of vocal improvisation of Igor Silin and Olga Tkachenko, the only Magic Theatre of the Voice in the world which creativity forces listeners to experience all range of human emotions.

DUO ZIKR doesn't fit into one musical format: creativity of the duet is so original and unusual that any comparisons or attempts to refer duet music to any certain style are simply inappropriate.

For the 20-year history DUO ZIKR I have released about 20 albums, I have visited almost whole world with concerts, I cooperated with the famous musicians: Boris Grebenshchikov, Sergey Kuryokhin, Dzhivan Gasparyan and others. Creativity of DUO ZIKR was highly appreciated by Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishnevskaya. The famous Russian couturier Vyacheslav Zaytsev has created original scenic suits for DUO ZIKR and also plans to arrange fashion-display in music of Magic Theatre of the Voice.

Zikr in translation from Arab means "remembrance" — spiritual exercise with the purpose to feel in itself divine presence, literally is a conversation good luck. In the creativity Igor and Olga have connected deep philosophy to a unique combination vocal the technician among which Sufi зикр, a chamber and national vocal, the Tibetan mantrovy vocal equipment, the Tuva throat singing, orthodox zeal and others. Voice range of the duet of vocal improvisation is 8 octaves for two.
