Yes, in 10 years you will be asking ‘Why didn’t we do that 20 years ago’.
The incredible rise of blockchain music and all that is associated with it, 200% increases in the price of the Choon Notes token, the meteoric rise of Ethereum and Bitcoin prices over the last 5 years etc has led to the FOMO actors in the space piling in globally. What is clear is that the future is blockchain and more specifically Choon has shown that the blockchain can do what is currently not being done with any degree of transparency, fairness or legitimacy — 1) allocating genuine streaming figures and 2) paying artists accurate streaming royalties at fair and accurate rate which reflects the true value of what they are actually producing.
What music royalty payments system has been broken for years propped up by the duke box generation desire to keep themselves wealthy at the expense of new, emerging artists. This incredible greed for the major labels and music industry executives led people like Gareth Emery to question the very upon which the industry operates leading to the creation of Choon.
Great music across all genres deserves to be listened to. More importantly though, great music must be rewarded financially in a fair and equitable way to ensure that diversity is ever-present in a vast and wide-ranging music world. Far approaching are the days when all genres will be celebrating again as the rewards are distributed more evenly and fairly. This is inevitable and it cannot be stopped. This is the future.
