Ready To Go

What can I say, yes I like Limp Bizkit.

There's nothing more fun than listening to angry rock music while you are driving especially here in South Africa, and instead of making me more angry at how shit other people are driving, I kind of find it calming. I stumbled upon the Bizkit in about 1997 somewhere while I was still at school and about the same time I started listening to Rage Against the Machine. This was the time in my life where the rebel in me started to surface, the whole idea of the oppression from authority and rebelling against that system that wanted me to conform to what society has dictated. It was music like this that helps free my mind from years of social conditioning and propaganda from the media and schools here, and this was probably the same for many other people growing up.

I think an individual identity is a big thing when people become young adults, well that's how it felt when I was growing up, yet the majority at the same age felt more of a longing to be part of a group rather than to stand alone and be different. This is something I find very strange these days, everyone wants to fit in, people share the same thoughts on issues even when they actually have not even given said issue any thought, they tend to just follow the socially prescribed thinking, as apposed to disagreeing with the mob. Those who do ask questions or have different opinions are shamed and disregarded as an outcast that should be avoided.

If it wasn't for music like this I would probably have ended up as another sheep, going on about my like believing everything I'm told.
