“You & Me,” covered by MEUTE … (Brass Band / Acoustic / Techno – Music to Your Ears, Covers–15)

MEUTE – “You & Me”

“You and Me” (2018 – original from 2013)

In this vid, MEUTE took the electronic / UK garage track “You & Me” out of the clubs, and brought it out into the fresh air of Berlin’s Görlitzer Park.

The original version of “You & Me” by Disclosure is, for the most part, unremarkable. So is the remix by Flume – although the video of the remix is quite steamy.

Ironically, this exuberant performance in the park is much livelier than any electronic club version. The musician’s are more immersed in the music, the music’s more dynamic, the crowd’s more animated, and the overall scene is certainly more vibrant than it would be in a loud, dimly lit club. _{(Image source)}

MEUTE

MEUTE is an 11-member brass band of sorts from Hamburg, Germany. The members describe themselves as a “techno marching band.” Their aim is to do the job of a DJ – that is, to get people out of their seats and dancing.

No Batteries Required

By using only horns and drums, they manage to do so, very successfully. With, as one reviewer put it so cleverly, “no batteries required.”

Consequently, MEUTE can set up anywhere, and soon be marching around, producing their lively, vibrant, and infectious music amidst ever-growing and increasingly appreciative crowds. _{(Image source)}
