More things invading Earth.

Seems like Earth is getting invaded by something every other day if the movies are anything to go by. I didn't bother with this one at the cinema, partly because it seemed to be a western make of some Japanese script. Typically the western version isn't anywhere near as good.

I have seen it on DVD, it was longer (over two hours) and better than expected. There are enough action scenes to keep you entertained and some comedy thrown in. This means that basically it is a reasonable movie, not a you must see this. Rather if it is raining outside and you want to fill in some time this is a decent way to do it.

Unlike other alien invasions which come from the sky, these aliens come from the sea. These aliens are big, very big, so to combat them massive robots that require two pilots to be in sync with each other were built. Even these giant robots are being beaten by the latest wave of invaders.

With pilots in short supply and time fast running out, a former pilot is brought back into service along with a rookie that has never seen battle. They must learn to fully trust each other and mentally sync so that they can pilot one of the older legendary models in the current battle.

Add to this, that we don't have a current plan to defeat the invaders, that is until two scientists come up with a way to send a bomb back to the alien's point of origin. Everything hangs in the balance, if we can't pull this off Earth will be overrun.
