THE FLASH - INTERESTING OR UNSPECTACULAR?

Barry Allen, The Flash

Shining something brightly in a brief or intermittent way is known as flash; the meaning doesn't end there though, when you move very quickly, it's also known as a flash movement. This second meaning birthed the american TV series, The Flash. Barren Allen is known as the fastest man on earth, he runs 100km in seconds. In fact, he's faster than the speed of light. This strange power started when a particle accelerator blew in Central City, every human that was affected by the havoc had strange powers. Barren Allen got his, but so many things went wrong afterwards; he lost his mum, and his Dad was charged for the murder. Meanwhile, another speedstar killed his mum just to stop him from having the power. The accelerator that blew became a bad omen, most of the people that were affected used their powers to torment humans, while some used theirs to steal and perpetrate evil. Just like every other superhero movie we are used to, Barry Allen started helping the human race, he stopped virtually every other mutants from hurting humans.

We've seen Superman, Green Arrow, Spiderman, Batman and Avengers, but the question is; how is The Flash different? It's just like the other movies - a superhero comes to the rescue. That's not my conclusion, it was meant to be a question. Barren Allen has a team helping him accomplish his mission just like Green arrow. Cisco Ramon, Harrison Wells and Killer Frost always ensured he fix things right. It's actually cool watching him run and save humans, but for how long? How long till humans gets tired of seeing imaginary people save the world or a city?

I don't intend giving you spoilers, I actually want to know if The Flash is worth the time. It's currently in season five and has no plans to end soon. Barry Allen now has a daughter that came from the future just to see his Dad. She's a speedstar too, and that should be questioned. We were made to believe that the particle accelerator that heralded in star labs made people had the powers, it wasn't suppose to be hereditary. Barry's gene was like every other human, but in a magical way, his daughter got the power too. Wait, she wasn't the only one that got the speed powers, Flash's girlfriend, Iris West Allen became a speedstar at a point and lost her powers. Her brother, Wally West is a speedstar too. The way he got his power was magical; the particle accelerator wasn't the only thing that gave the power, other scientific terms were infused and formed to explain how some people got the mutant abilities.

Destructing the timeline made Flash different from other superheroic movies. Barry has the ability to run into the future and the past; he can stop things that went wrong. He almost stopped the man that killed his mother, but he believed some things should be left as it was. Oh! There was a time he actually stopped the speedstar, but the things that happened afterwards was terrible. He went back to leave things as it was suppose to be.

Here is something interesting about the flash; the storyline was linked with Green arrow's. They were both in the same country, but different cities. Flash was in Central City, that was where the tragedies happened, and he was focused on the city alone. Green arrow was in Star City, and he visits Central City to help Flash sometimes. This shows one resemblance with "Avengers". Another thing distinguishing The Flash from others is the death of the hero's girlfriend. Virtually every superhero missed their wife to be; they end up dead. Iris, Barry's girlfriend is still alive, and the future indicates he (Barry) will be the one dead not Iris. Well, they actually told us he went missing for more than twenty five years.

It's fiction but isn't made to be realistic in any way. Well, maybe some people had imagined having such powers and saving some cities, but I haven't. Probably because I've seen a lot of similar movies or the movie wasn't good enough. Don't take in all my words, this is just my overview about the movie. His team is cool to watch though, that's why I'm still subscribing to subsequent seasons. Cisco is fun to watch, and his super powers is awesome. Now back to the title of this post, is The Flash incredible or unspectacular?
