Wilvo Yamaha MXGP's rider Arnaud Tonus has announced he will have to bow out of the Geneva Supercross this weekend. It has surfaced that Tonus has been struggling with a head injury picked up in training a few weeks ago. He still have some concussion from a blow to the head and has sensibly made the choice not to race.

"Sad to announce that I won’t be racing @SupercrossGeneva. I had a pretty big concussion in practice a few weeks back and I really hoped that I could be riding, but I'm still not fit enough. I will be there to sign some autographs and take some pictures with you guys."

This is a real blow for Tonus as the Geneva Supercross is his home race and I'm sure his fans will be disappointed. As always in this sport though they all know what it takes to compete at this level and Supercross is not the place for a rider who is not 100%.

Being the second injury he has sustained this year I'm sure his focus is now on getting back to full race fitness ready for the 2018 season. He missed three rounds in MXGP in August and September which pushed him back to twelfth in the standings. This should put some fire in his belly as he has the talent to push for a much higher position next season.
