Overcoming the Fear of Making Mistakes

Some fear is good because it stops you from making mistakes. For example, when I first started competing in sports, I had to get over my fear of getting hurt. A simple way to think about this is to remember that sports are not just competitive, but also physically demanding. You won't be able to do well if you can't physically compete.

However, this is where some dread can come into play. If you are afraid of getting hurt or failing at something, you won't be able to learn. You won't be able to learn because you're afraid. It is called "self-sabotaging fear" when you think about how you will hurt yourself. This happens all the time and most people don't pay attention to it.
