Do you want to sell your destiny? Get a paid job!

Every human is destined to follow a particular part in life. Some path leads to greatness, others elsewhere. Everyone has a purpose to fulfill in his/her life time. Most often taking up a paid job deprives us of that ability to strive towards our ultimate destination.
An analyst once put it practically, place money and banana before a monkey, the monkey would not look at the money for a second before choosing banana. Similarly, put a job opportunity and a business opportunity before most graduates and most graduates will jump at the job opportunity.
To put it cynically, taking up a job opportunity implies that you have sold your destiny to your employers. Perhaps you think this is rather blunt or not true. Read up. Imagine the case of a young graduate who has a dream of having his own hospital. That's the part he has chosen for himself, perhaps that is his destiny. Deep within he has visions of what he expects his hospital to look like. This is of course not to say a paid employment is bad, we all have to start from somewhere, don't we?

Now back to the analysis, our young doctor called John picks up a job at a reputable hospital to kick start his career, nothing bad about that. However, in the process of working for the hospital he is busy building the destiny and vision of the owner of the hospital called Mr Johnson. And of course John will be paid for his destiny which he has set aside for Mr Johnson's destiny. The money is actually called salary. Don't Get it twisted Mr Johnson would not pay John enough money for John to realise his potential of owning his hospital, in fact Mr Johnson will pay John a sufficient amount to keep John coming to work everyday.
The worst scenario is that the moment John becomes complacent and forgets his destiny, he will become an employee for life, actively building the destiny of his boss. A case of sold destiny indeed. Sadly many of us fall into this category of people actively building the destiny of bosses that don't give a rat arse about us.
To live purposefully, we all need to sit, take a deep breath and reflect deeply about our purpose and indeed our destiny because that ultimately determines our destination in life.
