Do not dwell on Past Successes; Set new records

Football isn't just a game of fun and entertainment... There are lessons to be learnt from it. I wouldn't want to dwell much on it as my friend @olawalium excellently explained the life's lessons attached with Football in his post on @communitycoin Steemit account. See post by @olawalium here

I am not a very passionate football fan you know the "die hard" football fans of clubs are the realist of football.
One thing I know for sure about my flair for soccer is the fact that I follow National football events very well not minding the national team playing.
FIFA worldcup is one soccer event that interests me so much. I watched FIFA football competition from the late '90's with the black and white television set as a Lad.

If you think Football is just a game kindly rethink...Football history matters a lot I believe some dudes that got big bucks from betting can well attest to this.

My emphasis today is a bit on why you've got to stop resting on previous life's achievements you've obtained or earned before.
Holistically this is very well visible from the FIFA worldcup events since 1998 and it continued repeatedly from 2006 without any change.

France Won the 1998 world cup and lost in the group stages on 2002 worldcup
In 2006, Italy won the worldcup
In 2010 Italy lost in the group stages of the worldcup
In 2010, Spain won the worldcup
In 2014, Spain lost out in the group stages of the worldcup
In 2014, Germany won the worldcup
In 2018, Germany just got evicted from the group stages

Seem interesting with the chronological wininng-losing syndrome but come on!...There is a lesson to be learnt from it.
Don't be comfortable with past successes, aim for new records. Maybe the title holders of previous worldcup were comfortable and felt like kings with their wins maybe though
But I will like to affirm with @modernpastor's belief

It's never easy to start in the world cup as the leading contender.
Some people may disagree with that but as the current titleholder and players like Germany have you are one of the major contenders.
And winning against a nation like Germany is the goal of everyone.
