A RARE LIST OF MAN’S TRUE ENEMIES

Many times, we attribute enemies to people around us who don’t want us to be successful. I have heard some people pray in church and it kept me wondering what they did to feel they have such enemies. They may be right, I’m not disputing that but man should realize something first before pointing fingers to his enemies – you are your first enemy.

There are so many things we do that limit us, affect us negatively and act like enemies to us. We need to fish them out and solve them before we can forge ahead. Thinking and reading are very vital in self-discovery and the latter has helped me a lot. Most of the things I have learnt today are from what I have read which has become a vital part of my life.

Without wasting much of our time, I present to you 7 things that are man’s true enemies:

1.) No prayer life: This reminds me of a song we used to sing when we were small

Prayer is the key, prayer is the key
Prayer is the master key
Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer
Prayer is the master key.

Prayer is necessary in a man’s life, it is the medium to communicate with our creator. No matter your religion, always find a way to pray to the Supreme Being your faith goes with. Whether everything is going fine or not, please pray about it. A man that doesn’t pray is as empty as a barrel because through prayer, we get empowered, enthroned and enlightened about the worldly things.

2.) Poor Saving Culture: Take a look at the ants, they save in most part of the seasons for hibernation period during the winter season. This is the reason they don’t come out during winter. If you can save, you can plan for the future and also be prepared for unseen circumstances. I have an uncle that used to spend all his earnings on lands and buildings, he never saved. The day he fell sick and there was no savings, he overlooked the sickness till it got worse and had to sell most of his buildings. A little savings would have helped him beforehand.

3.) No long-term vision: A man without vision is a dead man. I have discovered most people don’t know what they want to achieve in the next 5 years, which is terrible. This is a major issue in present times. Children cannot even answer correctly what they want to be when they grow up neither can college students. Draw out a plan, goal or target for yourself and work towards it especially a long term goal.

4.) Bad reading habit: Readers are truly leaders, they tend to know more about life and things happening around. Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria, said it was possible for him to be president after a long term in prison because he read always when he was inside which kept him informed. There is no way to be informed than to read.

5.) Lack of exercise: Exercise is important to good health. Take a jog, walk a mile or be indoors and do press-up. Just make sure you exercise yourself daily for good health and to keep fit. Exercise relives us of stress and prevent further sickness.

6.) No role model/mentor: Mentors are people we look up to, learn from and try to emulate. If you don’t have who you look up to, you are lost in the desert or in an ocean and you may sink. This is why reading is important, you have the opportunity to read about people and their biography which may align with your philosophy and morals.

7.) Self-Doubt: Doubt is a big enemy especially self-doubt. Self-doubt leads to procrastination and delay. How can you be born of woman into this life and doubt every action you want to take? Be bold, be strong, and take risk, which is the only way to scale through this life. Doubt is like a weed, if it is not removed, it will affect the right seeds/crops that we have planted.

In conclusion, we all have enemies in form of humans. We also have enemies in form of non-humans. We should be guided with our habits and characters before they turned to our enemies. Whatsoever that stands in our way of success or moving forward is an enemy, let us try to curb them on time. If we can overcome these 7 enemies I have mentioned above, we can move forward.
