Would you like to get more work done in a shorter period of time because I will today articulate exactly how I shunned procrastination and achieved more?

The steps which I undertook will be highlighted exactly in the article below and with the help of these steps, you will be able to get more work done from the comfort of your home.

Just because you are working from home does not mean that you cannot be efficient and productive. You have to first discover the root cause of the problem and thereafter take the right steps to manage your time better.

In this post I have six steps for you to look at that are very important to manage your working time at home, but first, let's see what the root cause of procrastination is.

Root cause of procrastination while working from home:

When you are working from home, you are not strictly in a controlled environment. Moreover, psychologically you are still at ease. This is the root cause of procrastination when you are working from home.

I personally used a few tricks which helped me overcome this procrastination.

The steps which I will highlight below will help you with your time management skills. You will be able to manage your time more judiciously and use it more effectively, which will help you get more done.

1. Creating a to-do list

When you create a to-do list, in a single glance, you will be able to know the amount of work which needs to be done throughout the day.

As a result, slacking will not become an option either. There will be constant mental pressure on you to start working to complete those tasks.

It will also be pretty clear that you cannot waste any time due to the number of tasks which are piled up.

That is why you have to always begin with a to-do list.

2. Using a timer

Rather than just knowing that you have to work 7 to 8 hours per day, you have to use a separate timer for each and every task.

These days, timer applications are available on smartphones.

I personally, set up a separate timer for each and every task. This always puts pressure on me to complete the task within the specified period of time.

This is one of the easiest ways in which you will be able to accomplish more in a shorter period of time.

3. Avoiding TV

When you are working from home and trying to accomplish tasks, you have to avoid the television altogether. You have to also avoid websites like YouTube as well as Netflix.

When you are able to avoid such distractions, it will become easier for you to focus on your work and on the task at hand rather than the entertainment sources present around you.

4. Shutting yourself in a room

Just because you are working from home does not mean that you can interact with your family members. You have to let your family members know in advance that this is your work time and therefore you cannot be disturbed.

The best way to do so is to pick a room and lock yourself up. You have to work inside that room without any kind of disturbances.

When you are able to do that, it will become easier for you to eliminate distractions altogether.

5. Following an office schedule

Instead of having a haphazard schedule, you have to follow a schedule, which you would normally follow in your office.

That is why, instead of binging on food stuffs which are available in your home, it is a much better idea to take a proper lunch break.

For the rest of the time, you have to make sure that you are working consistently.

When you are following the same schedule, it will become easier for you to stay disciplined and get things done rather than just wasting your time while working from home.

6. Prioritizing

Even when you are working from your home, it is important to prioritize the tasks which you need to complete.

When you are able to prioritize perfectly, you can be sure that you will be able to get more done in a shorter period of time.

Prioritizing is also one of the keystones when it comes to time management.

Moreover, you will be able to work on tasks which actually matters and which actually benefit you.

This is one of the main reasons why you have to always opt for prioritizing whether you are working from your office or whether you are working from your home.

Thus, when you are struggling with time management while working at home, it is important to follow these 6 simple steps I listed above.

With the help of these 6 simple steps, it will become much easier for you to manage your time effectively and complete all the tasks, which you set out to do each day.

Excellent @itstime! You always have amazing videos and gifs.

The planning comes first..i.e what all things need to cover in a day...then we need to scheduling and prioritising the stuff to complete before ending up with leaisure time for ourself👍

Thanks, @gmichelbkk for the beautiful advice usually when am off work it is hard for me to complete the tasks that I have yet to do but what I do is I go the library or the university and concentrate from there but this is help ful .
