TOMORROW IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YESTERDAY

in #motivation7 years ago

From the english dictionary, future actually means the time ahead or those moments yet to be experienced. In other words, future is tomorrow or the next hour or the next minute,second... Many don't know that if they do not walk pass their past, they cannot enter into their future and the most imminent danger or threat preventing them from entering their future is their past(yesterday).

Each one of us has an ideal or goal toward which we dream of or aspire to attain but we are so much caught in the trap of the past that we cannot step into our tomorrow.

We keep on reviewing, reconsidering, revising, inspecting the past(yesterday) as such our past has become our greatest enemy to the future(tomorrow). We often think that "enemy" stand for the wicked, hostile, nemesis, adversary and other negative attitudes but the truth of the matter is,the enemy can be that good person who is doing everything to prevent you from reaching your goals. As such your past glories or success can be your enemy so far as it prevents you from reaching your dreams or goals. When you decide to forever live in your heyday, you cannot enter into the future. Day in the sun is always joyous but hey you must step out into your future.

In mathew 16:23, Jesus rebuked Peter one of His disciples and called him "Satan" because Peter opposed His vision. Peter wanted to kill Jesus's dreams and purpose on earth. In this case Peter became Jesus's enemy even though a good disciple.
Each one of us must take hold of one of the greatest gift God gave man that is "to forget". This enables us to run pass our past to the future(tomorrow). We must put behind us the past and walk into the future. We must always bear it in mind that tomorrow is more important than yesterday.

Apostle Paul had this mentality that there are more precious, important, great, gigantic things ahead of Him and so he did everything He could to grasp those things and one of the tools He used was "forgetting". In Philippines 3:13(KJV)"......forgetting those things which are behind and reach forth unto those thing which are before". Apostle Paul walked in that consciousness.

We must prepare always to face and conquer any obstacle or hindrance that comes our way. One of the greatest man of God, Benson Idahosa once said"if you are afraid to do it, it cannot be done." You and I must step into the future to get it done. Thank you
