Fleecing Gideon

in #more10 years ago

Poor Job didn't know whether he was coming or going.

But later on in Judges, man gets to redeem himself with God through Gideon, when Gideon gives God the fleece test. "Make the fleece wet, make the ground dry, make the fleece dry, etc." Innocent at first. But consider from the time the devil asked God to kill man, he never stopped asking God.

The problem with Gideon was, he saw the angel then he heard God; but it seems he was more excited about the angel than God. I'm paraphrasing but shouldn't he have been more excited to hear from God? "God, where you been? I missed you. I'm so glad you called me back, etc." He had an opportunity to have relationship with God and chose to test God instead.

Seems like we have this same problem today. God wants relationship with us, and we want to test Him instead.
