Thistles In Bloom
Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T6
The humble, prickly, robust thistle is the flower of Scotland. There are a few legends about how it became the flower of the Scots.
Nothing was ever proven but there is a story how the thistle saved the Scottish army when an invading Viking stepped on a patch of thistles and let out a cry from the sting of the needles. His bellowing alerted the sleeping Scots and saved them from the ambush.
Thanks for stopping by @redheadpei
Nice picture. Good luck in the contest. I could never imagine posting about thistles but these even in black and white have a life of their own.
Thank you @mineopoly for your support and kindness. Have a great weekend.
Those are so pretty! :D
