This image was shot at the monument to the sun called "Pozdrav suncu" or "Greeting to the sun" in Zadar, Croatia. (Coordinates)

It is part of an art installation at the promenade in Zadar and consists of glass plates and solar modules organized in the shape of a circle. When the sun shines, the solar modules collect energy. At night, lighting elements installed in the circle turn on and create a nice looking light-show.

While the large circle reprsents the sun, you can find eight more circles of smaller size at appropriate distances along the promenade. As the monument was completed in 2008, poor Pluto had already been degraded to a dwarf and mobbed out of the system, and thus, is not included in this representation of our solar system.

Übersetzt heißt das in etwa "Gruß an die Sonne". Das Denkmal ist Teil einer Kunstinstallation an der Promenade von Zadar und besteht aus Glasplatten und Solarmodulen, die in den Boden eingelassen wurden. Bei Sonnenschein produzieren die Solarmodule Strom, der in der Nacht dazu genutzt wird, verschiedene Lichtinstallationen zu betreiben und das Denkmal bunt leuchten zu lassen.

Der große Kreis auf dem Foto steht für die Sonne. Entlang der Promenade befinden sich in entsprechenden Entfernungen kleinere Kreise, die die anderen Planeten unseres Sonnensystems darstellen. Da die Installation aus dem Jahr 2008 stammt, durfte der kleine Pluto leider nicht mehr mitmachen, da er bereits 2006 degradiert und aus dem System gemobbt wurde.
