We have just created the first node on ElectriCChain or the "Energy Internet"

Well not exactly. The ElectriCChain is a subset of the Energy Internet. It focuses on Solar Energy. It is an abstraction layer that rides on top of the SolarCoin blockchain and other blockchains like IOTA, Ethereum and others.

ElectriCChain is blockchain agnostic but we chose the SolarCoin blockchain itself to certify the first information about the Ninja Node 1. What am I talking about here? Well let us step back a little.

Recently the Guardian came out with a story proclaiming that "The clean energy economy is coming – and there's a lot to lose for those who can't keep up." where they explained that change is coming to the energy landscape and for those incumbents whose business models have been monopolies for maybe 100+ years, the change to their business is coming quite thick and fast. The article explains that renewable energy is generating more and more of the total energy and in some places like in South Australia it can sometimes be close to 100% . Additionally, the complexity of these systems will increase, and they will have to become more decentralized as the new technologies are constantly being adapted and evolved. They will grow more organically as open systems whether the incumbents like it or not. This also is not limited to any particular country.

In addition, there are new monitoring technologies available and these are rapidly converging in the cloud layer on the internet and in addition, the blockchain space. A new energy industry has been born in 2016, that is called Blockchain Energy.

It turns out that due to all the positive benefits of the blockchain as an immutable shared ledger, it has a great use to give truth to where solar energy or other energy generation points are generated, consumed and in the near future- traded.

So for us, we have been working on actually building Ninja Node on a small balcony here in Tokyo since mid 2014. It is a long story in itself and that led us to release the White Paper on SSRN called "Connecting the Blockchain to the Sun to Save the Planet". In that paper we go into building a solar powered solarcoin blockchain node. Since then the concept of the ElectriCChain itself was born and launched at the MIT conference earlier this year. Already ElectriCChain has been demonstrated in London at one event and also there are 13 ongoing projects inside it.

Today, we certified the first node inside the ElectriCChain. Here is the actual text in the comment section:

The text format itself has been standardized according to the ElectriCChain messaging syntax rules and there is the blockchain text explorer to find this text instantly. In the future, because it is an open system, there can be additional search and categorization layers added to the blockchain explorer to make use of this public data.

Now you see, the energy internet is born. It is born from Solar Energy.

We hope to create a new and exciting future, as Elon Musk also recently pointed out in his transformation of Tesla from a Transport to an Energy focus.
