About the $100 Bill

Source

The United States one hundred-dollar bill ($100) is a denomination of United States currency.

Statesman, inventor, diplomat, and American founding father Benjamin Franklin is featured on the obverse of the bill.

On the reverse of the banknote is an image of Independence Hall.

The $100 bill is the largest denomination that has been printed since July 13, 1969, when the denominations of $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 were retired.

The New "Benjamins" (or "C" Notes)

Source

The Fed has begun distributing the new $100 bill this month.

Since the $100 note is the most frequently counterfeited U.S. bill abroad, some new anti-counterfeiting measures have been implemented:

  • A blue three-dimensional security ribbon

  • A color-changing bell in an inkwell.

  • Hologram of Benjamin Franklin

Other changes include generous gold print and citations from The Declaration of Independence.

See this video describing the new $100:

Weird (Bipolar) Design

Source

The front of new $100 bill is strange, strikingly bipolar.

The left side, with the exception of signatures that used to be on the right, looks like the old $100 note.

Contrastingly, the right side has the blue strip and all that gold ink.

Source

IMHO, it is NOT aesthetically pleasing at all.

On the reverse, again, the right side is glaringly non-symmetrical with that bold, gold, and side-ways "100" on the outermost right border.

Again, looks tacky to me.

But hey, to each his own, I guess.

Cryptic New Symbols

Source

See this video about the many symbolic devices printed on the new $100. It's a conspiracy theorist's dream...

"Hidden Meanings in New $100 Bill (by Bix Weir)"

Here's the article from which the above video was based on:

"The Hidden Meanings in the New $100 Bill!"

Let's start with the most glaring difference even from the other new colored bills: that huge Blue Stripe down the right center.

For those not familiar with the symbolism of the American flag colors: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.

Is it possible that the big Blue Stripe may have more significance that you might expect?

Sort:

BTW Benjamin Franklin was also the richest American for some time. Founding fathers were real entrepreneurs and businessmen and they were pretty wealthy. No wonder they laid the foundations for the most business friendly nation of their time.

I like the picture of old Ben. It looks better freed from the oval. Everything else about the bill is ugly ugly ugly however.

I agree.

Lol. I was just going to say: "At least they are making it look more and more like what it is: CLOWN PLAY MONEY," and then I got to the last pic. Hahahah.

Excellent post my brotha.

Ben and Hamilton are the only non-Presidents on U.S. currency.

Thanks for visiting.

Namaste, my friend.

If they want to avoid counterfeiting, maybe they will eventually need to move to a polymer note, such as many countries are now doing.

That way it's easier to embed anti-counterfeiting measures in the note without destroying the aesthetics of it.

Very interesting, I did not know this and will be on the lookout for these!
