Why Most People Would Always Be Poor

in #money6 years ago

The title looks bleak so is a life of poverty. There is no way of sugarcoating this, so it is better we have the cold hard irrefutable fact, than live in the daydreams of turning a millionaire before the age of 25 when all the effort put towards achieving that is playing PlayStation Games, and having accounts in all social media (not a bad thing if leveraged right) with a following that would rival that of Selena Gomez Instagram followers.

Keeping Up With the Joneses

Mr. James bought a new car, and because of that, Mr. John decided to buy. After all, they are colleagues and John do not want to be seen as the man who is not doing well. John buys the car and is in debt now. He could afford not to buy but John cares about what people think of him. To be rich, you should not bother with such trivialities. People would always say a lot of things, but the minute you learn to develop a thick skin, they would know that discussing you is a futile venture.

A little tip here:

The poor think about what people think of them while the rich could not care less. By the end of the day, what people think DOES NOT MATTER and should not form the basis of your financial decisions.

If you do not want to be like the majority of the people, I think it is only natural you do not behave or do the things the majority of the people are doing.

If Time spent = Money Earned

Time is a valuable resource which should not be spent on trivialities.
The cliché time is money is a well known one. But the poor had always been known to work for every penny they earned. Is that supposed to be a good thing? Do not get this the wrong way. But, if the only point money is earned is when a work is executed, or when the person spends time working, there is a high likelihood that the person would never be rich.

The rich people make their money work for them. There are many ways to make your money work for you. That could be done by putting money in schemes capable of making you a profit; even while asleep. Every rich person knows that it is important to get the money earned to make more money. But this article is not going delve into ways of making passive incomes. It is now left to the readers to do their own research and device strategies to utilize the money made to make more money, even when they sleep.

In summary, if your time = money, you have active income. The need to step up and allow the money to make more money is the passive income that makes the difference between the small exclusive club of rich people and the multitude masses of the poor.

Between the clear path, and the thorny way

Most would choose the clear path as it is the easy way. But you won't be the only one walking on that path. So, to make money is not an easy affair, most get-rich-quick gurus would tell you it is. But that is a misconception, making money requires some backbreaking hard work and dedication, at least, at the very beginning of building the empire. Unless, a rich aunt suddenly died and left you some huge sum of money, starting off a money-making enterprise from the scratch, have never been easy.

Most looking for the secret of success are always looking to follow the easy clear smooth path. But there is no free lunch for those who want to break out from the vice of poverty. You have to pay the dues before the popping the champagnes.

It is a sure move into getting out of the crowd and making it to the top where the few rich guys are.

Conclusion

In conclusion, to be rich you have to be able to trust your instinct and do things the hard way. The easy way most of the time yields the result that makes the poor who they. Most made men are known to be "headstrong", they trust their instinct so much they do not allow people talk them out of a business opportunity that would nine times out of ten make them richer.

This article was written to be short and straightforward. These three things, not a secret by any chance, are the basic difference between being poor and being rich. Please feel free to have your say in the comment section below. See you at the top.

Once again @greenrun, you've pulled it off! Awesome!!!

Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliment.

@greenrun i love your content. I must commend that trusting ones instinct and doing things the hard way is not really easy but it is the right things to do.

Enough of caring so much about those who truly do not care about you. Anyone who wants to be truly rich must stop doing eye service in the vain of impulsive impressive buying.

Kudos sir for keeping me motivated.

Thanks for your contribution, I liked it. No one should bother about impressing the vain ones, they won't be there when the chips are down.

You said it all ... trust me. I love all you mentioned here. The rich and poor mentality are just so different.

If only the Mr. Johns can think less of what people will think of them, there would be less problems for the poor. It's not as if its wrong to live comfortably but going above one's limit is the wrong thing to do.

Sometimes people just want to be noticed and be praised and be identified as the rich but have nothing, but richness is a thing of the mind, accepting yourself and being contented with what you have, setting goals and working to achieve them.

I had this friend in school who was always chasing the "big" girls around in school. Always wanted to be counted as rich. It surprised her one day she was badly insulted by one of them and called a "a tag along." She cried her eyes out but later I made her understand that following people around to feel better would only make us less of who we are.

Everything is about trusting our selves and believing that there is no height we can not climb.

I think such people who do things to be noticed really have an inferiority complex or ego issues. Thanks for the long extensive input. This is lovely. Thanks.

Yeah you are right. Its a big problem.

Good advice. But a quick thought: I think it's a misperception to equate wealth to personal wealth. Real wealth is when everyone around you is flourishing, when the next Einstein doesn't have to work in fields 24/7 to feed himself, and therefore you won't be deprived of his inventions. Most people have a Caesarean "better be first in a village than second in Rome" mentality, which makes them strive after personal wealth, rather than general progress like, say, the scientist does.

I understand, but the focus of wealth here is mainly targeted at the material. Yeah, you could create wealth of knowledge in which a lot of people are beneficiaries, but such people may not be that rich materially, but one thing they are not is poor. So in a way it still applies. Thanks for your contributing to the subject of discussion.

You must change your thoughts to change your life. If you believe you must work hard, hard work is what you will do. Now, if you just make a little thought process switch and believe in working smart, you will activate your energy in that direction :)

I agree with you, the mind is a powerful thing, what you think and put effort towards could be achieved. Thank you for your contribution.

This is a wonderful piece that teaches much more than the title. Successful people go all out and worry less about what you think and they also happen to know the true value of time.

People would always have their opinions, irrespective of what you do. No matter how good a movie is, there is still that one critic that would score it ⅛ or even worse. But does that stop the producer from making his money and winning laurels? Heck no! Thanks for joining in the conversation. You rock.

Well said, passive income is what makes one comfortable not active which turns you into a slave.

That is very true. You work like a horse and end up being a slave to money.

Hello @greenrun

I love every bit of your post.

This realy sank deep inside me

Most looking for the secret of success are always looking to follow the easy clear smooth path. But there is no free lunch for those who want to break out from the vice of poverty. You have to pay the dues before the popping the champagnes.

Thank you for your kind comment. Happy you found it useful

In conclusion, to be rich you have to be able to trust your instinct and do things the hard way.

This aptly summarises all for me. Two roads divert into the yellow woods, and I took the less travelled by. Sometimes the hard way is the true way but human instincts wants comfort and security. But as franklin rightly puts it. "He who trades comfort for liberty deserves neither"

Never heard that Franklin quote but I sure like what he said. Thanks a lot.

Yh, it's a deep quote. It stuck to me the first time I came across it in one of Erastus Akingbola's articles.

Former MD of Intercontinental Bank? You took me down memory lane when Nigerian banks were paying! Those were the good days.

Lol. Abi now. When banking was the real deal. When bankers speak then, you just have to listen.

It was so good then, I remembered how the money was flowing into my brother's friend's account. There was profit sharing, all kinds of surplus payments. Wow. That was the golden age of banking here.

Honestly; This isn't one of those long ones, but It is stuffed. Thanks for putting this up.

Thanks a lot my friend. I am glad you found it useful.
