Trump Supporters Winning Gold Medal In Mental Gymnastics Trying To Justify His Actions

in #money7 years ago (edited)

Donald Trump said one thing to get elected and then, once elected, did the other.

The fact that people are surprised is, in itself, the surprising part.

Hasn’t that been the history of democracy and politics since it was created?

Democracy is one of the most bizarre systems ever created, to begin with. Here is how you would explain it to a newbie:

So, what is democracy?

It is a way of changing politicians.

What are politicians?

They are people who want to control and rule others.

Why would people want someone to control and rule them?

I have no idea.

So, how does it work?

Well, a few people usually make a bunch of promises as to what they will do if they are elected and then people decide whose promises they like best.

Why promises? Can’t they contractually agree to do something?

They could, but they just make promises instead.

And once they win do they keep their promises?

No, almost never.

So, why do people go through this process?

I have no idea.

And, that’s basically democracy in a nutshell. It’s absurd. Especially in today’s day and age where, if you wanted real democracy, every citizen of a country could vote on the internet for every proposed piece of legislation.

But, they would never allow that… because democracy isn’t there to do the will of the people. It is there to give people the illusion of choice while a select few make the rules.

And Trump is just the latest in a long list of politicians over the centuries to say one thing and then do the other.

Here is pre-election Donald Trump on his views on foreign policy:

And then, post-election, he went on to do pretty much the exact opposite of what he said.

This has put many of his supporters in a difficult position.

Some of our followers have congratulated us on our call, however. Like Robert:

Many have admirably come out against Trump based on his actions and even admitted they were wrong publicly. Like Vincent:

Changing your mind based on evidence and admitting you were wrong is one of the highest levels of honor and should be respected.

Others, though, are having a hard time letting go of their “hope & change”.

Here are some of the justifications we’ve seen for Trump’s flip flop.

HE’S JUST REALLY STUPID. This has to be one of the strangest defenses for Trump… but it is actually one used quite often with Presidents that people try to defend. For example, when small government, libertarian-sounding Ronald Reagan doubled the size of government under his tenure many people pointed out that he just got tricked into it because he didn’t know what he was doing.

That’s essentially what many are saying with Trump now. Essentially suggesting that the person they hoped would be their savior is just not very smart and easily fooled.

If so, why in the world would you want that person to have complete control over your life??

Perhaps, if the reports that Trump decided to bomb Syria because his daughter convinced him to do it are true, then he is scarily inept.

Though, it’s highly unlikely that those reports are true. They are likely put out in the mainstream Fake News media to scare people into believing that the guy with the nuclear codes is prone to launch missiles if his daughter saw something on TV that upset her!

HE IS WELCOME TO CHANGE HIS MIND. I’ve seen a few people use this as a defense, essentially stating that Trump, like anyone, can rightfully change their mind at any time.

Yes, that is true. Those who change their mind based on evidence and admit their mistakes, as I said earlier, are to be highly commended.

However, this isn’t the case for Trump. All of his comments, and tweets, attacking Obama in 2013 for considering bombing Syria after a supposed chemical weapon attack were for the exact same scenario which Trump faced in 2017.

Just like in 2013, a false flag/hoax attack had been conducted. Back then, Trump said it would be incredibly foolish to bomb Syria for it and that it needed Congressional approval at the very least. He also said that it could cause World War III.

Then, in 2017, given the EXACT SAME SITUATION, he said and did all the opposite things… and without any explanation for what changed his mind.

This is the height of hypocrisy and, to say the least if you want a President at all, you certainly wouldn’t want one who says and does completely different things given the exact same situation.

If you do, you might as well elect a magic 8 ball to be, what George W. Bush called, "the decider".

HE’S PLAYING 4D CHESS. Alex Jones was one of the first to come out with this defense. It is, in fact, not even a defense. It is an outright statement that not only did Trump not do anything wrong, but he is doing everything so right that us poor peons can’t even comprehend it.

Is it possible that this is true? Well, yes, anything is possible.

Is it likely? Not even remotely. Trump said one thing and then immediately did the other. And, if it is to “outsmart Russia”, that is all a ploy. There is no “outsmarting” Russia. There never was a cold war, no matter how much propaganda we’ve been fed over the decades.

Russia is controlled by the same people who control the US. Any imagination that there is a real game of chess going on is purely in the imagination of the beholder who wants to believe that there is an epic battle being waged and Trump is fighting it for them and, not only that, but he is so incredibly smart we can’t even understand what or how he is doing it!

Or, more realistically, Trump is just another puppet and playing the same old games that have been played by the elites for centuries to keep the populace enslaved and in constant fear.

We’ll go with the latter for its unbroken streak of always being the case.

HE WAS POWERLESS TO STOP IT. This is an interesting defense and one that we agree with to some extent.

The President really does not have much power to do anything. This is what makes the infatuation with who is President every four years a bizarre recurring waste of time.

But, it then begs the question, why do those who supported Trump care so much about him being President if he can’t really do much?

If you spent a few years supporting Trump for President only to say, “he can’t change anything” when he doesn’t actually change anything, then what’s the point?

Then there is the “it was just a limited airstrike without boots on the ground” argument.

Ya, so was Pearl Harbor. Your point?

We feel bad for those still trying to justify Trump. Many sound like wives with abusive, cheating husbands. “He only made a mistake once.”... “He won’t do it ever again.”

And, just like we’d tell those wives, standing there with sunglasses on to hide their black eye, we’ll tell Trump supporters the same, “You deserve better. It’s time to move on.”

But, like many wives, they’ll keep defending their man no matter how bad things get. It’s sad really, but what can you do.

Under Trump, just like we said, the wars will continue, the IRS will keep extorting, the Federal Reserve will keep inflating and the US government will continue towards an impending bankruptcy.

For this reason, keep stacking gold and silver. The Dollar Vigilante’s Senior Analyst, Ed Bugos, has recently become even more bullish on the precious metals. And, you can get our book, Getting Your Gold Out of Dodge free, for a limited time only, to help protect yourself here.

Or subscribe to the TDV newsletter (click here for more). Not only did Bugos correctly call the December bottom in precious metals perfectly but he earned subscribers a massive 97% gain in 2016.

In the meantime, according to those who still support Trump, he is either just really stupid, or incredibly smart, or changes his mind completely for no reason or can’t really change anything, or won’t do it again.

And the gold medal to mental gymnastics goes to...

Sort:

Many have finally jumped off the Trump train (there is hope for humanity) but the ones that remain are comically pathetic, no different than Obomber supporters.

Trump always has been a salesman, a hypocrite, a liar, a narcissist and in bed with the "deep state"! But he said he wasn't and no matter how much he is exposed (with undeniable evidence) some will always choose their delusional bubble over reality

Michael Moore was right... many-most Trump votes were merely a big middle finger to the rigged political-financial-military-insider scam system that now completely dominates the globe. That was appropriate. Thinking he was Presidential material capable of backing us out of that jam, well, was not.

No big shock to me that Donald Trump was going to be awful. He's president of the U.S., being awful is in the job description!!!

Jeff, a lot of your supporters are going through mental gymnastics to explain away your culpability regarding TDV Immigration. Please contact me ASAP to get this resolved. You have my email address.
