Can we open a trade using this strategy (rule 1) and still use a the staddle Strategy as well ?
Yes. As an unbreakable rule I ALWAYS open a small initial position. Never go all in and you MUST keep some capital in reserve. Opening with a straddle greatly lowers your initial risk and also allows you to find the true direction of the asset, then capitalize on that direction.
