Yes they are similiar projects as i checked both of them out. I like both actually, but i will have to give the slight advantage towards the Modex Team due to that p2p wallet with fiat/crypto.
Plenty of market to go around with smart contacts and some competition could be a good thing. I see the etherparty ICO is doing well in its first days.
I believe Modex ICO will be comparable
