Luxury Cruise "sea princess" Put on lockdown for threat of pirates

Many people aboard the Sea Princess were sailing away for the holidays. No one would have thought about any danger would be upon them when they boarded the luxury Cruise, but things took a turn for the worst mid-way through the cruise when the passengers were told to turn of their music and light in fear of somali pirates spotting them.

Although they never had any encounters with the pirates (thank god) they were still left scared after having an a pirate lockdown drill. During this drill they had to turn off all lights in their room, then lock the balcony door and exit into the corridor of the boat.

A Princess Cruises spokesperson said they do not discuss security procedures, however they added: ‘Any measures aboard Sea Princess were simply taken out of an abundance caution and not in response to a specific threat and are common to international shipping sailing in the region.!

With the average cost of a ticket $50,000 and the threat of pirates I don`t think anyone will be sailing with the Sea Princess for a while.
