Privacy and Fungibility: How Monero Obfuscates Transactions on the #Blockchain @InGame esport lounge VR-arcade Budapest

in #meetup7 years ago (edited)

Was a small but deep Meetup supported by MrCoin and Shinrai with Justin Ehrenhofer (SamsungGalaxyPlayer) about the

  • most fundamentally elegant digital currency;
  • most private, untraceable, secure, and fungible #cryptocurrency;
  • 6th most traded cryptocurrency;
  • most profitable coin you can mine with GPU;
  • most privacy oriented crypto-currency!

ABOUT MONERO

#Monero is an unlinkable, untraceable currency whose transactions are private by default. Since it launched in 2014, it has worked to protect the privacy of transactions and fungibility of coins. The meeting will cover the history of privacy and fungibility in Bitcoin, discuss several approaches to these problems, and explain how Monero achieves its privacy in detail. Justin will discuss the next steps in development going forward and the limitations compared to other coins. Finally, there will be a Q&A session after the meeting, where he can clear up some final thoughts.

ABOUT JUSTIN

Justin has been active in the Monero community for the past two years. Although he is not a developer for the project, he has contributed heavily on StackExchange and with the Monero mining community. He is a president of the University of Minnesota's Cryptocurrency Club (www.CryptoUMN.com), and he has spoken about Monero at several other meetups. Justin is studying finance and management information systems.
