Long span deja vu, “What do they eat for breakfast in Vietnam?” x2
I was having dinner at my parents house with a friend when he asked the same question he’d asked a couple of weeks before, the thing is, it seemed like I was the only one who remembered he’d asked that question already, “What do they eat for breakfast in Vietnam?” but it wasn’t just a memory of him saying it, when he was speaking it felt like deja vu, i was standing in the same place, doing the same thing that i was doing in my memory.
( I’m not sure if that makes very much sense but whenever i have deja vu im overcome with a very strong feeling of “this has happened before”, it’s visceral. )
the question and moment happened the same way as it did in my memory but my second reply was slightly different than the first time. the first time he’d asked,i replied with “we eat rice porridge in the morning” but my father corrected me by saying “we don’t eat anything in particular— the vietnamese don’t have common breakfast foods”
