For those who might not be familiar with Matrix.org, it is a decentralized and federated communication system. Think discord / slack / whatsapp but open and federated.
There is a largish open-source ecosystem around it.
I have had only one complaint about matrix.. the server is a memory hog. I hope this funding round helps them improve their new server-in-the-making called dendrite.
