One of the simple operation in mathematics, but still leaves people clueless! We live with these people! Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide! This is a full explanation of the division bar, in depth and over-simplified.
The Versatility
The following expressions are ALL equivalent:
Need I say more? Yeah... Probably. Haha. So, in that case, did you know that simplified fractions are just numbers that don't divide or reduce? Plug in variables, x, y, n, they act the same!
Operations on Fractions with Whole Numbers
When multiplying a regular number and a fraction, you just multiply it with the top, numerator. When you have a fraction divided by a regular number, you just multiply it with the bottom, denominator.
Cancelling Stuff
If there is the same number on the top and bottom of a fraction, and they are both multiplying with the rest of the fraction, those numbers can cancel!
