Day 6: Health Response Team for the Evacuees of Marawi Siege

in #marawi6 years ago (edited)

March 16, 2018, is our seventh day of deployment for the conduct of public health services for the affected people of #MarawiSiege. We continued to be with this community and trying to bring up their moral as they live in an exhausting and uncomfortable protection area. For us the health team, as we stay for at least 6 hours in the protection area, we can feel that still there a big need for them to live in most humane ways after the crisis.

In a simple act of goodness, its return is smiles and laughs from these group of people and its worthy for us that it simply manifests that we are touching lives and bring relief to their situations. From time to time, by bringing this kind of services, it also allows for them to move on from the tragic past they had encountered. Our services may be not that enough, the important thing is that they felt that there are people who are in their back to push them out from the unfortunate situation.

Through the help of the local and non-government offices, we will not stop until the lives of these individuals came back again to a normal state. It may not happen overnight and it may take a long time but we will not let them hang in the middle of this crisis.

Paano ba magdonate sa kanila ng clothes sir?

Mam @emdesan, pwede po natin ito coordinate sa regional DOH office na pinakamalapit po sa inyo.. Salamat po

Thanks for the information! It's great work what you guys are doing for these kids.

Thanks @luvabi. It really hurts hearing what they had experienced from the encounter. At the very young age they witnessed a mass killing and through their sharings, it really bothers them even at the night when they are sleeping.

:( that's heartbreaking.
Are you on discord?

It really made us tears. Yes I'm on discord.

Would love to donate some clothing po sana.

From what province po kayo @bloghound? I can coordinate po sa nearing agencies na connected po ang office namin para po tulong na gusto nyo po iparating. Maraming salamat po!

Matanong nga din mga agencies dito kun pano magdonate. Good job as always!

Thanks a lot @leeart! They really need a help. Godbless.

Hi..will you be staying long in Marawi? What are the gov't' plans there?

Since march 11 we are in different protection camp for the evacuees of #MarawiSiege. We, the first batch of team be deployed, we will be here til March 25 and there will be three more batches to be assignes here. One of their initial step are constructions of shelters for these evacuees whom are not allowed to return to ground zero. And others are giving them assistance to start their own income generating funds.

Do people there have celphones? they can blog their experiences and earn too in the platform.
This is what Steemit Philippines want to do in Marawi. You think this is feasible kaya?

Some has their own android mobile phone, the problem is the internet subscriptions. In the protection camp, they do not have enough budget and it will hard for them to allot money for internet registrations.

Can the govt provide wifi? if it will give them an income and it's not that expensive. Minsanan gastos.

Base on my experience po sa work ko. Mukhang hindi po ito pagtuunan ng pansin ng goverment. Ang construction po ng shelters are ongoing and marami pa po evacuees na nd pa nakakaalis sa evacuation area mam @immarojas.

It's one way of giving them an income, less dependency sa govt, more of self-reliance.
How much is a wifi cost per month, how many people can use it, which agency can make this happen? Would you say its cost effective and very helpful? A group of steemians can do this in Marawi. Families can be helped this way.

Sorry mam i'm not that really familiar with different networks and their promos with internet connections who can accomodate a large community. On what I had observed in the protection camps and temporary shelters, more of the occupants are elders and younger populations are still on their schooling and some living outside for their works. Yes it will be a good platform for income generating homebased work, but i think they more interested on livelihood related jobs. They are in need of fast modes on how to acquire a self sufficient state related to financial.
