A Typical Street In Gozo
Whilst most people have heard of Malta, not so many have heard of Gozo, her sister island.
Just 26 square miles with many beautiful beaches and full of history, you'd be missing a treat if you didn't take the short ferry ride and go and explore.
It's one of our favourites places for family holidays and we've just booked a short 4 day break there, at the end of September. Woo hoo! 😁
We are currently tring to agree on which accommodation to book, which is proving to be a bit of a drawn out process! 😂

Really love how a few of them have plants on their balcony and outside of their homes. It is always the little touches of trying bring nature back into an area that makes it amazing.
Those city planners really have their act together. Not something they would pull off down here it would be all over the place with bunch of wasted land.
Gozo's so tiny there is no land to be wasted @enjar. 😂
I love how the streets are so clean @enjar. most Gozitans take a pride in their surroundings and you'll often seen them out cleaning their front doorsteps. I can remember my grandparents doing that too but that particular activity has is long since past here.
I love Gozian goat cheese
Not keen on any sort of goat's cheese myself @tobixen but I know it is very popular. 😊
There are some fantastic sights at Dwejra, at the west end of the island. I think I've only been at Gozo once, and that was without my family, would definitively want to get back there one day.
Dwerja has changed somewhat since you were there @tobixen as the Azure Window fell into the sea earlier this year.
Interestingly it was the stack that gave way rather than the arch @tobixen. I will be taking a photograph of the space where it once was and putting it some of my previous photographs that show the window before it's demise.
Oh, I didn't know ... too late to show the Azure Window to my family then ... but I think the whole area was amazing, with or without that window

There are less than half a million living at Gozo and Malta, and English is the official language.
I find it quite amazing that they still manage not only to maintain a Maltese language, but also to have different dialects on Gozo and Malta!
Long may it continue @tobixen.
I love the cadence of the language. It's very unique and I find that I can tell if someone is Maltese, when they are speaking English, because of it. 😁
