What is a mandala in art?
A mandala is a complex abstract design that is usually circular in form. In fact, "mandala" is a Sanskrit word that means "circle". Mandalas generally have one identifiable center point, from which emanates an array of symbols, shapes and forms. Mandalas can contain both geometric and organic forms.

After a long day and even longer night I try to spend some time meditating everyday. I've also found that any type of art is a type of mindfulness meditation. Lat night I got caught up in some simple free Android apps. I downloaded the app 'radial' and within minutes was lost in a world of fractal patterns. Next thing I knew it was a few hours later. I was lost in the projects I was creating.
