Portraits of enemies, the spider and the fly - [Original Photography]

Hi everyone,

Well, this new Sigma macro just continues to amaze me. I can't wait for it to warm up and more bugs to appear. I'm especially excited about trying to get some shots of dragonflies. Here are a couple from this morning's short session. I am particularly stoked with this spider image. I'm pretty close to saying it is one of the best images I have ever taken and one of the most painful - my legs got stung to bits on nettles as I kneeled down to shoot it.

The details are just amazing. Well worth the Sigma given the price/quality ratio. Nice job!

I guess I should be back on the road and do some deep breathing session hehehe..

Damn! Those eyessss!

Oh yes... That Sigma is awesome! And it is actually quite versatile too (love the bokeh from it!). Been playing with it for a while and it does't stop to amaze me :)
Great shots!

These are great! One thing I've noticed since moving to Caister is there is no lack of spiders! The house gets plastered in webs and it's a twice weekly job to keep them at bay during certain times of the year.

Wow. Spiders are so frickin' cool. I love how perfectly in focus the spider's "face" is while the foreground and background planes have such nice bokeh. Really highlights crazy spiderface. Love the colors shimmering around in the fly as well, on the bristles and face. Awesome!
