Gold Dust Weevil - Hypomeces squamosus - Macro Photography
Hello steemian's.
This time I found a Golden Dust Weevil. This beetle is also called the Hypomeces Squamosus. At first I observed rose apple leaves in front of my house which was almost consumed by beetles. After I looked closer I found this beetle eating the leaves.
By observing their body shape, we can search for beetle names or scientific names.
To observe this beetle, I took several photos with my smartphone. Adding a macro lens to the smartphone will produce a larger and more detailed image of this small animal.
This leaf-eating beetle has 6 feet. his body was covered with shiny yellow scales. They are considered as pests, because they eat leaves of various kinds of plants.
This beetle has two straight antennas located between the eyes and mouth.
After searching for similarities in body shape, I got the scientific name of this beetle. The scientific name is Hypomeces squamosus. Generally referred to as Gold Dust Weevil.
