A land snail is any of the numerous species of snail that live on land, as opposed to sea snails and freshwater snails. A common name loosely applied to shelled gastropods, have considerable human relevance, including as food items, pests and vectors of disease.

The shell of the snail are used as decorative objects and are incorporated into jewelry also had some cultural significance, and has been used as a metaphor.
